Categories:

====Question or Symptom====
When upgrading the CBOS on Cisco routers, one might find that they can't
access RMON through normal means (hitting <CTRL>-C when the Alarm light
lights).

====Resolution====
To go into RMON when this occurs, boot the router normally, and go into ENABLE
mode, and type the following:

debug monitor on <ENTER>

reboot <ENTER>

At the "Hello!" prompt, hit <ENTER> twice to put the router into RMON mode.
The CBOS may now be upgraded using the normal procedure. It will be necessary
to maunally exit the RMON mode, using the key sequence:

=> m0 <ENTER>
=> rb <ENTER>

After the CBOS upgrade and reboot, RMON should be accessible through the normal
means.
