Forums in phpBB are created via the Administration Panel under Forum<br />

To make forums on your phpBB bulletin board login in to your administrator<br />
account (the account you used during the install process). After logging<br />
in, go to the "Go To Administration Panel" link at the bottom of the page. This<br />
will take you to the administrative control panel. On the left frame<br />
under the "Forum Admin" heading, you'll see a Management link.<br />

On the management page, you can create new forums and categories. If this is<br />
going to be your first forum, you'll need to create a category. Enter<br />
the name for your category and hit "Create New Category," you can position it<br />
within the other cateogires by selecting move up/down respectively. To<br />
create a forum within a category, move to the add forum form under the<br />
appropriate category, punch in the name and click "Create New Forum."<br />

On the creat forum screen, you'll have the opportunity to enter a description,<br />
make sure the category and name are correct and configure a few<br />
miscellaneous options for your forum. Forum status will either be locked or<br />
unlocked. When a forum is locked no-one may post in it, and it is<br />
generally used as an archive for moving posts. Unlocked is the default option<br />
and will allow posting in the forum.<br />

The final option, auto-prune provides a way to "clean" your forum periodically<br />
if you wish to keep a clean board. If you enable auto pruning the<br />
"remove topics that..." option will select which topics will be deleted. Topics<br />
older than this threshold will be queued for deletion. The "check for<br />
topic age..." option determines how often auto-prune will run.</div>Admin
