Question or Symptom

You have a broadmax router, you wish to look at statistics for this device and their meainings in a real sense so you know if your router is having line trouble.

Resolution

Telnet into the broadmax in question. Here is a summary of commands with discriptions of the important numbers that may be causing you trouble. It will be helpful to you to be transmitting data (i.e. a down/upload) so you can see the error counters increasing or not.

 SEF = Severely Errored Frame (SEF) defects.
 FEC = Forward error correction (FEC).
 CRC = Cyclic Redundancy Check
 NCD = NCD (no cell delineation)
 HEC = Header Error Control (HEC) violations.
 OCD = The number of Out of Cell Delineation events since the last reset. An
    OCD event is declared when seven consecutive ATM cells have Header Error
     Control (HEC) violations.
