In the RoundCube address book, you can make a distribution list. This is a set of contacts grouped together so you can email them a message all at once.
The contacts interface is a little different depending on which theme you are using. So in the instructions below, some of the screen elements might be in slightly different places.
Getting Started
First, log in to RoundCube. Then click the Contacts button.
If you are using the Classic theme, the Contacts button is in the row of icons across the top. If you are in the Elastic theme, it will be in the column of icons on the left hand side.
Add Contacts
You should see two window panes for the contacts. The left lists the Groups and the right lists individual contacts. The Groups should have at least one group listed, called Personal Addresses.
The first step is to add some contacts. In the Classic theme, there's a "Create New Contact" icon right above the contacts pane. In Elastic it's a "Create" icon above and to the right of the contacts pane. Click that, fill in the name and email address of the new contact, then click Save.
Add a Group
After you have a few contacts, you're ready to create a group. In Classic, at the bottom of the Groups pane there is a plus sign "+" and you click that to add a new group. In Elastic, at the top of the Groups pane there is a 3-dots menu. Click that and select "Add group". In our example let's say you created a new group called "Friends". After you save, you should see a Friends group in the groups pane.
Now, you can drag-and-drop contacts from the contacts pane to the Friends group. As you move them to the Friends group, they will not disappear from the contacts list on the right. That means you can add one contact to as many different groups as you like.
Click on the group on the left to see the list of contacts in that group. To get back to the list of all your contacts, click Personal Addresses at the top.
Send Mail To Your Distribution List
Now when you compose a new message, you can start to type the name of the group (e.g. friends) and it will be offered up for you to click. When you select it, it will put all the addresses into the To: line for you.
If you don't want the recipients to see the addresses of the other recipients, you can put them on a BCC line instead. In Classic click the little "Add Bcc" link below the To line. If Elastic, click the "+" at the end of the line and select BCC.
