Question or Symptoms

I am not at home, but I need to check my email or send someone an email using Webimp (Horde).

Resolution

Yes, you can check your email with us from other locations.
You can access your email with us from our website. Our web based email
is called Webimp. You can do this from any computer with an Internet
connection and a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla,
Safari, or Opera. Any Internet cafe or public library (in the USA) should
       have these.and '

If you have any troubles with using Webimp while travelling, give the help
       desk a call 505-232-7992 (tollfree 1-888-792-7266), 8:30am to 10pm Mon-Fri,
9am to 6pm weekends, Mountain time.

       1. Go to our main website, http://www.swcp.com/
You can do this one of two ways:
           a. In the Address bar at the top of the browser, erase out the web
address there. Type in our address (www.swcp.com) and hit enter.
           b. If you search for "Southwest Cyberport", the first link should
               be our website.
       2. On the left-hand side of our web page, there are some links. The first
one should say "Web email [Horde]". Click on that link.
       3. This will take you to the Webimp login page. It will ask you for your
username and password. Use the username and password that you regularly
use for your email with us. It is usually the same as the first part of
your email address, so if you were bob@swcp.com, your username would be
          bob.
It will -not- be the username that starts with a capital P.
          Username:
          Password:
       4. After you have put in your username and password, click on "Log In".
       5. This will take you to the main Webimp page. To display the email in your
inbox, click 'Mail' on the left side.
       6. You will here see a list of the messages in your Inbox on our server.
Often, any messages which you have downloaded to your computer will not
be shown here, because your email program has instructed our server to
          delete them on our side.
They are still available on your computer at home ... just not in Webimp.
          a. By default, Webimp will show the oldest messages first.
If you click on the "Date" heading, Webimp will show the newest
             messages first.
       7. From here, you can read messages, delete messages (and/or blacklist their
          senders), and send new messages.
       8. When you are done, click on "Logout" in the center of the top of the screen.
If you do not log out, anyone using the computer after you will be able
to read your email or send email from your email address.

To read messages from the Inbox:

       1. Find the message that you want to read in your Inbox. Click on the
Subject field or the From field (they will both be links in purple).
Any message which has not been read yet will be a darker purple and
          marked with a closed-envelope icon.
       2. Read the message.
       3. To delete the message, click on "Delete". It is in the second row from
the top of the page on the left side.
       4. To reply to the message, click on "Reply". It is also in the second row
from the top of the page, directly to the right of 'Delete'.
       5. To return to the Inbox, click on "Inbox". It is near the top
of the page on the left. It can also be found near the center of the screen
          on the left side.

To send a new message from the Inbox:
       1. Click on "Compose". It is near the top of the page on the left.
If nothing happens, edit your popup-blocking software to allow popups
          from 'swcp.com' and try again.
       2. Fill in the To field with the recipient's address, or click 'Address
Book' and select your recipients from there. This is a two-step
process in which you must first select your contacts from the address
book and click 'To', 'CC', or 'BCC' to indicate which type of
recipient you desire them to be. When you are done compiling the
recipients on the right side of the screen, click 'OK' to add them to
          your email.
       3. Fill in the Subject field with the subject of your email.
       4. Write the message in the large space provided.
       5. Click on "Send Message", or "Save Draft" to save a draft copy of the
message to finish and send at a later date.

Any messages you send using Webimp will be automatically saved in your
'sent-mail' folder unless you either save it in another folder as you
send the message by selecting a different folder from the drop-down
box labeled 'Save a copy in', or uncheck the 'Save a copy in' option
altogether. These saved emails WILL count towards your disk quota on
our servers, so please do watch how much space they take up or you may
find yourself out of disk space and unable to receive new emails!

To delete multiple messages from Webimp:
       1. Make sure you are viewing the Inbox, not a single message. Click on
"INBOX" at the top-left corner if you are currently viewing a single
message. To delete the mail from a different folder, you simply need
to pick that folder out of the drop-down menu in the top-right-hand
corner of the screen to navigate to that folder.
       2. To the left of each message listing is a checkbox. Check the
messages that you wish to delete, or click the 'Select' drop-down,
then 'All' to select every message on the page.
       3. Near the top or bottom of the page, click on "Delete". This will mark
each selected message with a trash can icon, indicating that it is
          slated for deletion.
       4. You may change your mind about these pending deletions by selecting
the desired messages and clicking "Undelete". This will remove the
trash can icon and cancel your messages' pending deletion. To follow
through and actually delete all messages which are pending deletion,
you need simply to click on 'Purge Deleted' in the second row from
the top of the screen, on the right side. You can also click 'Hide
Deleted' if you are unsure about this action at this time, but still
wish to read your email without worrying about the messages you have
already marked for deletion. If you do so, 'Show Deleted' will appear
in the space of 'Hide Deleted' to allow you to redisplay the messages
          pending deletion.
WARNING: Any messages which you delete from Webimp will be removed
PERMANENTLY. Please be sure that this is what you desire before you
          click 'Purge Deleted'.

       To exit out of Webimp:
       1. Click on "Logout" at the top of the screen, near the right side, or
the other 'Logout', found near the bottom of menu on the left side
          of the screen.

       Have a pleasant trip!
