I can't seem to block people on my mailing list, why?
Article:263 Created:2003-11-11 13:38:37 Categories: Mailing Lists Mailman
Question or Symptom
I've got a mailman mailing list and I've tried to add someone to the list of people whose messages are always held for approval. Some of the addresses work, others don't seem to. What's up?
Resolution
For reasons no-one understands (OK, I don't understand) this mailman field need to be only lowercase. So, if JohnnyBadBoy@aol.com is being a pain, you need to add him to your block list as johnnybadboy@aol.com.
Yes, I know this isn't consistant with the membership list, but that's the way it works.
