How do I set up the Flowpoint (Efficient) router to be an MS VPN server?
Article:110 Created:2001-06-06 16:34:08 Categories: Windows 98 Windows NT 4 Windows 2000 routing Security
Question or Symptom
I need to set up a "standard" (PPTP) Microsoft VPN server. Can I do this with NAT turned on? What do I need to forward?
Resolution
You need to allow GRE protocol (47), and tcp port 1723. The following commands will set this up for a FlowPoint of Efficient router:
system addserver <PPTP server IP address> tcp 1723
system addserver <PPTP server IP address> 47 0
