Question or Symptom

How does an SWCP client make sure that no legitimate email is being filtered out by the web-based anti-spam filters?

Resolution

1) To check for legitimate email by the SPAM filter at SWCP:

  a. Logon to http://www.swcp.com/twig using your swcp username and your SWCP password.
This is NOT the same as your domain logon.

 b. Click on MAIL

 c. Near the bottom left, it says: FOLDERS: Inbox GO. Where it says INBOX,
          select SPAMFILE, and press go

 d. Inspect the presumably Junk email messages, if you find any email that is
not really junk, click the check box on that line.

 e. Look as far back as you like by navigating the possibly multiple pages
          of messages in your SPAMFILE.

After inspecting the messages, and if you have found any *real* messages and have checked their box(es), use the "Move Messages to the **Select a folder** " function near the bottom righ. Select "inbox", and press "Go". All the selected messages will be moved to your inbox, where your Outlook will find them

 f. Log Out of TWIG

2) To prevent a particular sender for ever having messages trapped:

 a. Go to http://www.swcp.com/swcp/ and press the "Anti-Spam" filter link

 b. LOGON using your swcp username and your SWCP password.
This is NOT the same as your domain logon.

 c. If you receive a message that the page contains secure and non-secure items,
do you want to display non-secure items; then
ignore it by clicking yes.. This is simply an artifact of SWCP not
using secure technology to display their logo.

 d. If in BASIC MODE, switch to advanced mode

 e. Find the section that says "Add a from exception".

 f. In the text box in that section, enter the email address
of the person from who you would like to receive messages.

 g. Check the "Always deliver to my inbox" and press the "add" button

 h. Repeat steps f through g for all email address to be added
to your "whitelist", the list of people who will NOT be filtered.

 i. Logout by closing the browser.
