How do I re-install or reset TCP on Windows XP?

Question or Symptom

You have a Windows XP system which appears to have all the network elements configured correctly, but it still doesn't work. If you were using an older version of Windows, this is the point where you would uninstall TCP/IP and reinstall it.


Resolution

You can't uninstall TCP/IP on WIndows XP. Hwoever, there is a way to reset it to its virginal state, including all the registry keys which might be corrupted. This MS KB article explains how:
