Setting up Eudora for multiple users on a Mac
Article:7 Created:1999-09-01 16:39:54 Categories: E-mail MacOS-9
Question or Symptom
How do I use multiple email accounts with Eudora on a Mac?
Resolution
NOTE: most modern versions of Eudora and Netscape support multiple users natively. The following only applies to older versions of Eudora. You can download the latest versions of Eudora and Netscape from www.eudora.com and www.netscape.com, respectively.
To set up Eudora to work with multiple users on one Mac, do the following:
1. Go to the System Folder. You should see a folder called Eudora
Folder. Copy this folder to a new name (e.g. "Bob's Eudora")
someplace else on your hard disk (someplace other than the System
folder).
2. Go into the new copy of the folder which you just created. Double
click on Eudora Settings, which will run Eudora.
3. Change the settings (via the Special->Configuration or
Special->Settings menu, depending on the version of Eudora you
have). Change the POP account name, user's real name, and other
settings to correspond to the new person's account.
Now when you want Eudora to work on the original person's mailbox, just run it like you used to. To run it with the new person's mailbox, run it by clicking on the Eudora Settings icon in the Bob's Eudora folder.
