Apple Mail with Auth SMTP and IMAP SSL

Here is how to configure Apple Mail on Mac OSX to work with SWCP's mail server.

  1. Open the Mail application on your Mac
  2. Go to Mail > Add Account...
  3. On the Add Account page, select Other Mail Account..., then click Continue
  4. Enter your email account information:
    • Your Name: Enter the name you want recipients to see when they receive your message (e.g. "Bob Smith")
    • E-mail Address: username@swcp.com (Or name@yourdomain.com if you have your own email domain)
    • Password: your SWCP mailbox password.
    Now click Sign In
This will pop up a new window which probably has a red message saying it was Unable to verify account name or password. That's OK, because we haven't given it all of the information yet. Fill out the empty fields on this screen:
    • User Name: username (where "username" is your SWCP login name - sometimes this is the same as the first part of your email address, but not always)
    • Account Type: IMAP (we recommend IMAP in almost all cases)
    • Incoming Mail Server: mail.swcp.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server: mail.swcp.com
  5. Click Done on the next page (about selecting the apps you want to use)

That's it! Mail should log in to your account and download the messages in your inbox right away.
