How do a add or remove a user from a Majordomo list I'm moderating?

Question or Symptom

One of my list members doesn't know how to unsubscribe, can I just unsubscribe them? I have another email address I just want to add. How?

Resolution

Yes, it's fairly straight forward. You'll need your majordomo list password and you'll want to make sure the email client you're using doesn't wrap long lines. Majordomo commands must be on a single line.

If you list is named house-cats, and the user you'd like to remove is mimi@chicagodog.net, and your majordomo password is rikitiki then send a message to majordomo@swcp.com with the following command in the body of the message:

approve rikitiki unsubscribe house-cats mimi@chicagodog.net
 

If you want to add sarah.dumbledore@spellcast.net to this same list you'd use:

approve rikitiki subscribe house-cats sarah.dumbledore@spellcast.net
