Question or Symptom

On a Windows 98 system using Netscape 4.5 when I start Netscape I'm seeing the error message "error:temporary directory C: does not exist". Clicking OK allows me to continue without an further difficulty. How can I fix this?

Resolution

Edit autoexec.bat to make sure 'set temp' exists and is correct. For example, 'set temp=C:\tmp' and make sure the directory \tmp exists.
