How do I add new avatar galleries to my phpBB?

Question or Symptom

Avatars are icons used to represent a user's profile. Avatar galleries are thematic collections of these icons for use by your users.

Resolution

To add gallery avatars, you will need to login to your FTP client, and make a new directory within /phpBB2/images/avatars/gallery. The directory's name should reflect the theme of avatars you're using. When the directory is made, upload your set of avatars.

In order to make your avatars "ready to use" you will need to "CHmod" the files to 755. In WS_FTP, you can select all of the files, right click and select CHMOD. To set the "755" value check all of the read and execute boxes, and the first write box (under owner) and hit OK.

That's it, your new avatars are now available to your users under the gallery.
