How can I change the default phpBB logo?

Question or Symptom

By default phpBB uses the phpBB "creating communities" logo, for the main board and default style/theme. Other themes/styles may have different logos.

Resolution

In order to change the default logo (the image at the top of the forum) for a style/theme. Look for a file titled "logo_phpBB.gif" in the style's images directory. For example the logo for the subSilver (default style) would be in /phpBB2/templates/subSilver/images. The files must be in the GIF format, and must not have capitalized extensions (i.e. logo_phpBB.GIF, instead of logo_phpBB.gif). The first part of the file IS case-sensitive, be sure to capitalize the BB.

As with all file transfers and changes, it's recommended that you keep a backup copy of the template's original logo.
