Resolution

Here are the steps you need to perform to enable port forwarding on the Broadmax router.

NOTE

Please note that if you forward port 80 you will no longer be able to access the broadmax web configuration over the internet. If you would like to continue to be able to access the broadmax's web interface over the internet you need to change the port on which it listens and remember that port.

To change the port the broadmax web interface listens to do the following.

1. Click the "Admin" Tab
2. Click the "Port Settings" link
3. Enter the new port you would like to use in the "HTTP Port" box
    (example: 61000)
4. Click the "Commit and Reboot" link
5. Click the "Commit" button
6. Click the "Reboot" button
7. You now have to access the broadmax over the internet at
   http://your_IP_address:61000

To forward ports do the following.

 1. Click the "Services" tab
 2. Select "Nat Rule Entry" from the "NAT Options" pull down.
 3. The page will refresh and show you the rules that have been entered. Rules
with the "Rule Flavor" RDR are the NAT redirect rules. You can delete a rule
by clicking the trash can icon. You can view the rule by clicking the
magnifying glass icon and you can view the rule stats by clicking the "Stats"
button.
 4. Click the "Add" button to add a new rule.
 5. A "Nat Rule Information" window will pop up.
 6. for "Rule Flavor" select "RDR"
 7. for "Rule ID" enter a number greater than that las rule ID on in the
    previous table.
 8. "IF Name" can be left at "All" or changed to "ppp-0" (your outside
    interface)
 9. "Protocol" can be left at "Any"
10. "Local Address From" and Local Address To" should be the IP address of your
    internal machine (example: 192.168.0.5)
11. The "Global Address From" and "Global Address To" should be left unchanged.
12. "Destination Port From" and "Destination Port To" and "Local Port" should all be set to the port you would like to forward.
13. Click the "Submit" button
14. Click on the "Admin" tab.
15. Click the "Commit and Reboot" link
16. Click the "Commit" button
17. Click the "Reboot" button

You can now test your configuration by typing in you web address or the IP address that was assigned to you by SWCP in your web browser. The page that is displayed should be the one on your server.
